Resa Routes in facts

Short, factual answers about Resa Routes. As of 8 October 2026, version 0.1 (Build 144).

What it is

What is Resa Routes?
An iPhone app with an Apple Watch app for walking, hiking, running and cycling: find waymarked routes nearby, plan routes, follow them with voice guidance, record tours, and keep your whole outdoor history from Apple Health in one place.
Who makes it?
Resa Health B.V., Amsterdam (Netherlands), Chamber of Commerce 27177288. Contact: hello@resa.health.
Is Routes available yet?
Not yet. Routes is in development and being tested outdoors; it is not in the App Store yet.
What does Routes cost?
The price isn’t set yet. It will be announced before launch.

Devices and languages

Which devices?
iPhone with iOS 17 or later and Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later. There is no Android version.
Which languages?
13: German, Dutch, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Portuguese, Greek and Hungarian.

Maps and routes

Which maps?
Apple Maps and satellite everywhere. Official topographic maps for Switzerland (swisstopo), Bavaria (Bavarian Surveying Administration, CC BY 4.0) and the Netherlands (Kadaster TOP25raster via PDOK, CC BY 4.0).
Where do the waymarked routes come from?
From OpenStreetMap: hiking, cycling and MTB routes as a map layer (Waymarked Trails) and as a list nearby, with length, time and elevation.
Are there offline maps?
Not yet. Maps load and are kept on the iPhone for a while.
Can I plan and navigate routes?
Yes. Tap points on the map; the route follows the paths, with distance, walking time and elevation. When following, there’s voice guidance, even with the screen off, and a way back if you go off route.

Data and privacy

Where are my tours?
On your iPhone and in Apple Health. Routes reads outdoor workouts with a route from any app and writes tours it records back.
What goes to a server?
Only what you share yourself: a tour, photos, comments. Never heart rate, energy or steps. The app also works without an account.
How does Routes protect my home?
A privacy zone around your home (200 m, 500 m or 1 km) is cut off shared tours on the iPhone; you can also hide the start and finish.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes. Import GPX files and whole folders, export every tour as GPX.
